Richard Keppel-Smith is a top South African born stills photographer. His honest beginnings as a teenager with second-hand equipment in a self-built darkroom now boasts an active and thriving career spanning over 27 years. During his journey as creative, Richard turned down a bursary to study photography and decided instead to experiment with the craft itself. His untaught ways lead him to his own discoveries in film, an understanding of the secret and inner-workings of light and the harnessing of beauty.

For 12 years Richard shot in film and mastered the art of getting his shot in less frames. Richard’s professional work ethic and drive for perfection translates through his images. He finds great satisfaction in hitting the target and seeing that client’s expectations are met.

Consistency in this area has lead to established relationships with many local retailers, fashion magazines such as GQ, Marie Claire, Elle, Glamour, Cosmopolitan and a client list that includes numerous advertising and fashion brands such as Polo, Pringle, Bjorn Borg, Dan Fuller Jewellery, Audi, Mini Cooper and Bentley - just to name a few.
